The President of Belema Oil Producing, Mr. Jacks-Rich Tiens, has appealed to the United States of America (USA) Consul General to Nigeria, Mr. John Bray’s, to facilitate the establishment of America business liaison office in Port Harcourt.
Mr. Tiens who spoke when Mr. Bray’s visited Belema Corporate Headquarters in Port Harcourt, said the establishment of a liaison office in Port Harcourt would facilitate business partnership between America and Niger Delta business investors.
He said when the business liaison office was established in Port Harcourt, it would facilitate business relationship between the investors in the region and American business entrepreneurs and that Belema Oil was set up in 2012 with five major assets in the state.
According to him, the company’s vision was to utilise the hydrocarbons in the Niger Delta to the benefit of the local communities and that about 3,000 youths from the local communities of the Niger Delta region were employed by the company, saying the company had built a platform to train the local communities on technological advancement.
Mr. Bray’s, in his response, said business could only thrive in a very conducive and peaceful environment.
He called on political actors in Rivers State to ensure that there was transparent and violent-free elections in 2019, saying that no investors would bring business in an environment that was devoid of peace and security.
